The Honeymoon

Rain, oh night, fill every waiting bloom
Let every leaf brim over
Dropping, splashing on forehead running down
Until the feet receive them
unsandaled

Shine, oh day, ahead of waking eyes
With every shadow fleeing
As light clothes us with his glorious gown
Until our faces receive him
unashamed

Sing, oh heart, take courage in my arms
For dust and water passeth
But I am yours and you are mine
Until the Mystery we belong to is
unveiled
