I touch the wall and climb his barren face
Which covered yet remains without complaint
Serving me both willing and aloof
To my bursting leaves covering his face
Yet in the very form thereof behold
The building bears new life not of its own
And yet supports green arms from stubborn stone

The building may be barren, may be rich
In either case I cascade ‘long the form
Past barricade of angle, glass, and ledge
I form a restless foliage like a hedge
That can’t be hemmed by anything save air
Who blesses all space, no decorum dear
That won’t be covered by my sunward quest
 
I am a footless stair your eyes follow
Over brick and wood and roof eave flowing
Roots as much in man-shaped earth as free air
Drinking water from ever-tender shoots
Each one small but not alone among the
Countless seekers of the life lived out in
Reckless order cascading upward, lightward

სუროს ქალაქის სიმღერა

თბილისის შენობებზე სუროს შემჩნევით აღძრული ფიქრები, აპრილი 2021 და წლის მარტი 2024

ვეხები კედელს და მივცოცავ მის ზედაპირზე,
დაფარულია, თუმცა ერთს არ დაიწუწუნებს,
ემსახურება თან სიამით და თან გულგრილად
ჩემს აფეთქებულ ფოთლებს, მისი სახის დამფარავთ,
თუმცაღა სწორედ ამის გამო ეს ნაგებობა
ატარებს ახალ სიცოცხლესა, არა თავისას
ჯიუტი ქვიდან ხელს აშველებს ამ მწვანე მკლავებს.

უნაყოფოა ეს შენობა ან თუ მდიდარი
მე ჩანჩქერივით ჩამოვყვები მას მთელ სიგრძეზე,
გავცდები კუთხეს, მინასა და სხვა ბარიკადებს
და ვქმნი ორნამენტს, დაუდეგარს როგორც გალავანს,
ვერ შემოაცლის მას ვერც სიო ან და ჰაერი,
ყველა სივრცისთვის მწყალობელი, ვერა ძვირფასო,
მზისკენ ვისწრაფი, ვერ შემაჩერებს ვერაფერი.

ფეხდაუდგამი კიბე ვარ მე, მზერა მომყვება
აგურზე, ხეზე, სახურავზე ჩამოკიდებულს,
ჩემი ფესვები ამ მიწაზე ვითარცა ჰაერს
დაეწაფება წყალს პატარა, ნაზი ფუნჯებით,
თითოეული პატარაა, არ არის მარტო,
ვერ დათვლი რამდენს სურს სიცოცხლე და შმაგი წყობით
გზას მიაპობენ ზევით, ზევით, სინათლისაკენ.
